Shweta Bhattacharya to make Film debut with Dev

Jamuna Dhaki fame actress Shweta Bhattacharya will be seen on the Big screen with Tollywood superstar Dev. Yes, you heard it right. Actress Shweta Bhattacharya who played the lead role in the television serial 'Jamuna Dhaki' is all set to make her Film debut where superstar Dev is her co-star. The new on-screen pair of Dev and Shweta Bhattacharya will be seen in Avijit Sen's film Projapati.

Apart from Dev and Shweta Bhattacharya, the film has a prominent star cast where we will see Mithun Chakraborty and Mamata Shankar among others. Mithun Chakraborty will be seen as Dev's reel father where Mamata Shankar's character will play an important role in their life. Earlier, Mithun Chakraborty and Mamata Shankar were seen togeher in Mrinal Sen's film Mrigayaa. Once again Mithun Chakraborty and Mamata Shankar will be seen together on screen through Avijit Sen's film Projapati alongside the new pair of Dev and Shweta Bhattacharya. The story of Avijit Sen's Projapati revolves around a father and son. If all goes according to plan, Avijit Sen will start shooting for the film from July.

On the career front, Shweta Bhattacharya made her debut on Tv with Sindoorkhela. Later Shweta Bhattacharya played the lead role in several television series like @Bhalobasha.com, Tumi Robe Nirobe, Jorowar Jhumko, Konok Kakon, etc. By playing various characters on Tv, Shweta became one of the familiar faces to the Bengali audience. Apart from Bengali tv-series Shweta Bhattacharya was also seen on National Television. Shweta played the female lead in Hindi Tv-series 'Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki' opposite Vishal Vashishtha.
