Actor Dev to be honored with Banga Bhushan Award

Actor Dev who made his debut with Tollywood Diva Rachna Banerjee in Agni Shapath will be honored with Banga Bhushan Award. Prior to this, he has been honored with many awards like Tele Cine Awards, NABC International Bangla Film Award, and Filmfare Awards East. The West Bengal government also honored him as Mahanayak in 2014. And this time, he will be honored with Banga Bhushan Award. Besides acting, people also love him for his social work as a political leader.

The special event will be held at Nazrul Mancha tomorrow (Monday, 25th July) where Dev will grab the award from the state government. Dev shared the invitation letter sent by the government through his social media handles. The letter shared by Dev reads, 'You are a talented actor in Bengali films. Your outstanding acting skills have enriched Bengali cinema. Your contribution to the film industry is unquestionable. We are proud of your glory.' It also reads, 'In recognition of your overall contribution to Bengali cinema, the Government of West Bengal is keen to award you 'Banga Bhushan' on Monday, 25th July 2022, at 4 pm at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata.

Apart from Dev, the state will give this honor to many talented people in the entertainment industry. The list includes actress Rituparna Sengupta, singer Iman Chakraborty, Shreya Ghoshal, and Abhijeet Bhattacharya among others. 

However, due to the SSC scam that has been going on in the state for the past few days, the  Baamfront (The Left Front) party has appealed to boycott the award ceremony.
