Another sad news in Bengali Music Industry. Singer Nirmala Mishra passed away. On Saturday (30th July) night, the musician breathed her last at her residence in Chetla, Kolkata. She was 81 years old.

According to the report, Nirmala Mishra died due to a heart attack. Her family doctor Kaushik Chakraborty confirmed it. She was suffering from illness for the past few days. The musician had been hospitalized several times in the recent past. But she did not want to stay in the hospital. So she was treated at home. According to family sources, the mortal body of the singer will be taken to Rabindra Sadan on Sunday morning. Fans can pay their last respects to their favorite artist there. This decision has been taken after talking to Mayor Firhad Hakim. However, the final decision will be taken only after a discussion with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Nirmala Mishra gave us super hit songs like 'Eamun Ekti Jhinuk Khuje Pelam Na', 'O Tota Pakhi Re', Ogo Tomar Akash Duti Choke.

Nirmala Mishra was born in Majilpur, as the daughter of Pandit Mohinimohana Mishra and Bhabani Devi on the eve of Durga Saptami. She made her singing debut in 1960. Music director Balakrushna Das gave her a chance to sing a song for the first time in the Odia movie Shri Lokanath.
