'Eken Babu' creator Sujan Dasgupta found dead in his flat

Author Sujan Dasgupta, who created famous fictional character 'Eken Babu', was found dead in his flat. The author's frozen body was recovered from his flat in Kolkata in the early morning. He was 80 years old. The local police reached the spot after receiving the information.

It is known that writer Sujan Dasgupta lived in America. Recently, he came to Kolkata for the film 'The Eken'. His body was recovered from his residence 'Udita' on the edge of EM bypass. It is also reported that he was alone in the flat.

According to police sources, this morning the maid came and knocked on the door for a long. After getting no response from the writer, the maid called the security guard, then Sujan's brother-in-law reached the spot and informed the police. Around 10 am today (18th January), the writer's frozen body was recovered from the flat by breaking the door. The author was seen lying on the floor in front of the bathroom of his room. No injury marks were found on the writer's body. The body has been sent for post-mortem. 

The writer was living in America since 1967. The OTT platform has made Sujan Dasgupta popular among the Bengali audience. Actually, we all know how popular 'Eken Babu' is to us. The author has a daughter who lives in America. Dasgupta was suffering from sugar and blood pressure problems for a long time. The family rushed to Kolkata on hearing the news of Dasgupta's death.
