As the temperature rises, the federation comes up with some new rules for the Serial Makers

The temperature has risen over the past few days. As per the reports, it's between 38 °C and 43 °C. But the heatwave seems to have exceeded 50 degrees. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already ordered closure of schools and colleges. Students have returned to online classes as they were during the pandemic. But actors and technicians are among those who have no online option this summer.

Keeping in mind the health of artists and technicians, Swarup Biswas, president of FCTWEI (The members of the Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern India) has taken some steps to keep them well this summer.

In Swarup Biswas's words, ''it is really difficult to shoot in this scorching summer with temperature of 40 degrees Celsius to 43 degrees Celsius. So, some changes have to be made in the shooting process. We now have to avoid outdoor shooting. The shooting time should also be changed. Shooting during noon time should be avoided. I mailed to Producers Guild and EIMPA (Eastern India Motion Pictures Association) to arrange a meeting about this.''

Did you know that actors and technicians don't take every Sunday off? Only the second Sunday of the month is a holiday for the makers and actors of television dramas. The shooting of the shows goes on for 14-15 hours a day. As the subsequent episodes have to be shot in advance, the actors and technicians work under a lot of pressure.
