Filmmaker MN Raj, who earlier directed Superstar Jeet in his action thriller Raavan, is now set to make an intense love story featuring Rupsha Mukhopadhyay and newcomer Gourab as lead pair. Audience will get to see a fresh pair of Rupsha Mukhopadhyay and Gourab with MN Raj's upcoming film Jannat. Recently, the makers announced the film and also revealed the cast of this romantic-drama film.
Apart from the lead Rupsha and Gourab, the film also features some popular faces from the industry. Artists like Kharaj Mukherjee, Supriyo Dutta, Tulika Bose, and Biswanath Basu will be seen playing pivotal roles in this movie. In MN Raj's Jannat, Rupsha will be seen playing the titular role while Gourab will be her love interest.

Speaking about the story of the film, it revolves around Jannat, a Muslim modern girl who works in a corporate office. Even though she is modern, she wears hijab whenever going outside. She lives with her brother Ali and sister-in-law Rukshana. Ali is nice and humble but at the same time, he is very strict about marriage. On the other hand, our Hero Rahul. He is the cheerful guy who still has no job and roams around all day, hanging out with friends, playing carrom, and sleeping. His life takes a turn when he meets Jannat, and they soon fall in love with each other. Ali Bhai takes a stand against Rahul and Jannat's relationship. Will Rahul and Jannat be able to live happily ever after or will Ali Bhai destroy their dreams? That’s what forms the crux of the film.
The director said that he will start the shooting for this film from this April.
