Filmmaker Subhrajit Mitra, whose last release Avijatrik won the Best Bengali Film Award at 68th National Film Awards, is coming up with a new magnum opus Devi Chowdhurani - Bandit Queen of Bengal, starring Srabanti Chatterjee in the lead role. The film is based on Devi Chaudhurani, a Bengali novel written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee which was published in 1884. The film left fans super excited right from the moment it was announced as it will be released simultaneously in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam apart from Bengali. Now, the director is all set for the shooting of the film from November-December.

Recently, the makers of Devi Chowdhurani have revealed the character's look from the film which has increased the excitement among the audience about the film. Taking to social media, ADited Motion Pictures, shared the character looks of the lead stars of Devi Chowdhurani from the film.

While Sratanti Chatterjee will be seen playing the titular role, Arjun Chakrabarty will play the role of Rangaraj. On the other hand, senior actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty will be seen as Haraballabh Ray in the film. Apart from these three stars, the film also features Bibriti Chatterjee, Darshana Banik, Kinjal Nanda, Alex O'Nell, and Carl Harte in pivotal roles along with industry's much-loved actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. Well, Chatterjee's new look from the film is yet to be revealed. In the film, Prosenjit Chatterjee will be seen playing the role of Bhavani Pathak.

Some important things that you should know about the film 

Devi Chowdhurani is slated to release in theaters in Autumn 2024, along with its dubbed version in a total of 6 languages excluding the original Bengali language versions. The film marks the comeback of Sabyasachi Chakraborty on the silver screen. Indraneil Sengupta, one of the acclaimed actors in the industry, was initially cast as Rangaraj, but actor Arjun Chakraborty was eventually roped in to portray Rangaraj.
