Prosenjit Chatterjee to direct Kangana Ranaut in his Hindi film on Noti Binodini

Prosenjit Chatterjee is one of the versatile actors in the Indian Cinema world. His portrayal has earned him a special place in the hearts of Bengali audiences as well as the Hindi audience. Chatterjee recently received OTTPlay award for his outstanding performance in Jubilee web series. Presently, the media is abuzz with news about him once again. According to reports, there's exciting speculation that he will direct Kangana Ranaut in a Bollywood period drama film based on Noti Binodini.

In an interview on his birthday, Prosenjit Chatterjee told OTTplay, ''I will direct a film. The process and preparations are on. As of today, people primarily watch me in front of the camera. I want to go behind the camera and make something. Call it an urge to reinvent myself, this is what I want to do next. Anyway, every 10 years or so, I like to change the course of my work. I tried to change the course of my contribution to the industry'' And now, it seems to be true with Kangana Ranaut. 

In October last year, it was reported that Kangana Ranaut will be seen in the role of Noti Binodini in a drama film directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Kangana Ranaut also said that she is excited to play the role under Pradeep Sarkar's direction. But unfortunately, the National award-winning director Pradeep Sarkar died on 24th March 2023. The filmmaker was reportedly on dialysis and his potassium levels dropped drastically. His wife immediately rushed him to a hospital, where he breathed his last.

Now, the latest reports suggest that Prosenjit Chatterjee will direct the film in which Kangana Ranaut will play the lead role of Noti Binodini.

Although Prosenjit himself did not say anything officially about this. So there is a bit of confusion about whether this is the film that Pradeep Sarkar was supposed to make, or it's a completely different one. But if sources are to be believed, this is the 'Binodini' film scripted by Pradeep Sarkar.

Prior to this, Prosenjit Chatterjee directed a film titled Purushottam in which he played the male lead opposite Debashree Roy. The film was released in 1992. Now, he is making a comeback as a filmmaker with Kangana Ranaut in Binodini film.
