India's First Filmmaker Hiralal Sen's Biopic directing Arun Roy

Director Arun Roy making India's first filmmaker Harilal Sen's biopic. Earlier, Arun Roy directed a movie titled Egaro. Arun Roy has won the Best Cinematography award three times for his work on the films Bodhu Biday (1978), Johnny (1983), and Bhaijan (1983). Now he has taken the responsibility of showing the biopic of India's Legend filmmaker Hiralal Sen.Today's India is going to forget about the legend, who is the pioneer of Indian cinema. Director Arun Roy is bringing the story of Hiralal Sen becoming a legend from a common people. The movie will show how Hiralal Sen's name was suppressed and Dadasaheb Phalke's name spread.

Hiralal Sen was noted as India's first filmmaker and First advertising filmmaker. In 1898, a film troupe screened Professor Stevenson's short film along with a Stage show in Calcutta (now Kolkata). Hiralal Sen made his first film "A Dancing Scene" from the opera The Flower of Persia, with the help of his brother Matilal Sen by borrowing a camera from Professor Stevenson. Hiralal Sen bought the Urban Bioscope, a film projector development Company in London. And later built his own Production House called Royal Bioscope in 1898.

Hiralal film starring Kinjal Nanda, Saswata Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shankar Chakraborty, Arna Mukherjee, and Anuska Chakraborty. Kinjal will be seen as Hiralal Sen, Kharaj Mukherjee playing Girish Ghosh.

The film Hiralal will be released on 5th March 2021.
