Uttam Kumar's Biopic Starring Saswata Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Ditipriya Roy

Uttam Kumar is the idol of the Bengali Film Industry. There is no dought, he is the legend of the Bengali film industry. Apart from acting, he had produced many successful films like Harano Sur, Saptapadi, Bhranti Bilash, etc. Fans call him Mahanayak. He was the first National Film Award winner for the best actor in 1967 for his performance in Chiriakhana which was directed by Satyajit Ray and Antony Firingee. Director Atanu Bose bringing the unknown story of this Mahanayak with a film name Achena Uttam.  Achena Uttam film has a huge star cast with 70 actors.

Actor Saswata Chatterjee will be seen as Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. Popular Bengali actress Rituparana Sengupta playing the role of Uttam Kumar's most popular co-actor Suchita Sen.Bengali tv serial Rani Rashmoni's actress Ditipriya Roy will be seen as Sabitri Chatterjee. Actress Srabanti Chatterjee will be seen as Uttam Kumar's wife Gouri Devi. Actress Sneha Das playing young Gouri Devi. Anubhav Kanjilal playing the role of Uttam Kumar's son Goutam Chatterjee.

Newcomer Tirtharaj Basu will be seen as young Uttam Kumar. Biswanath  Basu playing the role of Uttam Kumar's brother Tarun Kumar.Actress Sayantani Roy Chowdhary playing Supriya Devi. Anindya Sarkar and Sampurna  Lahiri will be seen as director Shakti Samanta and Sumitra Mukherjee.

Saswata Chatterjee said 'I know what everyone knows. Some off-screen events and stories have been highlighted in the movie. The film shows the events that we have known from his biography and his family'.

Suchitra Sen is Suchitra Sen. Nobody can be like Suchitra Sen. I don't think I can reflect Suchitra Sen's characters. I'm just playing the character of Suchitra Sen in this film. I will try to portray her characters on the screen as much as possible said, Rituparna Sengupta.
