The shooting of all films and TV serials had been suspended from 16th May due to Lockdown. But this time the good news comes for the serial lovers. West Bengal government has extended the lockdown from 16th June, but special places have given some concessions. That list mentions the shooting of Tollywood films, TV series. The Tollywood industry has been allowed for shooting with some restrictions. All the artists, makers, and technicians are happy with the announcement.

On 14th June, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an announcement and mentioned that the shooting can be done in the studio but no more than 50 people will be present at the shooting spot. It is mandatory for all people present at the shooting spot to be fully vaccinated. People who have not been vaccinated will not be on the shooting floor.

However, the producers are not satisfied with the permission to shoot, they are facing some allegations from the federation.

The members of the Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) held a press conference shortly after the shooting was allowed. President  Swaroop Biswas mentions some issues and allegations against few TV units. Several serial makers have violated the Covid protocols. They point out that 20 popular tv serial like Mithai, Titli, and Sreemoyee have violated the Covid restrictions. Federation has repeatedly complained about the serials. The artists were told to shoot at home but looking at the episodes of the last few days, it seems like the production houses have given full support to the artists with technicians, make-up, costume and, etc that violate the Covid protocols. The federation asked the makers to clear it that they did not shoot at any rented flats, guest houses, or warehouses. However, the producers are ready to shoot from June 16th.
