Actress Diya Chakraborti who played Padma's character in popular serial Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni, will play a meaty role in the brand new drama series Godhuli Alap. Actor Koushik Sen will be seen on TV after a long time with this new show where actress Somu Sarkar will play the female lead opposite him. The new drama series narrates a love story of a middle-aged man a young girl.

Actress Diya Chakraborti has recently joined the cast and is already shooting with the lead pair in her new avatar. Diya Chakraborti played the role of Padmamoni aka Padma in the popular mythological series Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni. Although that was a negative character, she got so much love from the audience and also left her mark in the industry. This time Diya will play a meaty role in Godhuli Alap. while Koushik Sen and Somu Sarkar will play the lead pair Diya Chakraborti will be seen as Koushik Sen's reel sister as Trisha. 

In the serial, Koushik Sen will play the role of Arindam who is a famous lawyer and who never compromises with his ethics, while Somu Sarkar will play Nolok's character, a village girl who always struggles with her financial problems. Later due to some unfortunate circumstance they get married. The show shows how they fall in love with each other despite the age difference and proves their pure love to their family and society too. The new serial will telecast its first episode today (21st March) at 6 pm on Star Jalsha.

On the career front, Actress Diya Chakraborti cracked an audition and made her debut on tv with Subarnalata serial. Later she has acted in several popular series like Mayar Badhon, Jai Kali Kalkattawali, Rupkotha, etc. But playing Padma's character made her popular among the Bengali serial lovers and this time she will be seen in Star Jalsha's new drama series Godhuli Alap while popular actors like Koushik Sen, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Sohag Sen are her co-stars.
