Actress Rupa Dutta arrested on charges of stealing money

Bengali actress Rupa Dutta, who has acted in several television dramas, has been arrested on charges of pickpocketing. A police officer on duty at the spot saw a suspicious incident and then the officer found a woman throwing a bag in the dustbin.

The incident happened at International Kolkata Book Fair. Cops from Kolkata’s Bidhannagar North police station were on duty at the fair, saw a young woman throwing something like a bag in the dustbin. When the police suspected, they went to the woman and interrogated her. But the police arrested the woman as she could not give any satisfactory answer. Now we know it was actress Rupa Dutta. Police recovered a total of Rs 75,000 from her. Police later took her to court as per formalities. In front of the judge, Rupa claims to be innocent and broke down in tears. Rupa's lawyer also submitted evidence in support of her statement. She was eventually remanded in custody for one day.

However, this is not the first time. Rupa has been involved in the debate before. In 2020, Rupa accused director Anurag Kashyap of sending obscene messages. It was later revealed that he was another person.

Actress Rupa Dutta has acted in several tv dramas. The mythological tv-series 'Jai Maa Vaishno Devi' is the notable project of Rupa Dutta. The actress has also acted in Ankush Hazra's debut film Kellafate where she paired with Ankush.
