| Actress-Politician Saayoni Ghosh tests for Covid 19 |
Actress Saayoni Ghosh who is also the President of West Bengal Trinamool Youth Congress has tested positive for Covid 19. The actor-politician herself reported about her illness on Saturday night through her social media handles. Sharing the news Saayoni penned, 'Although I continue to remain mostly asymptomatic with minimum fever, cough & cold, I request everyone who came in contact with me in the past 24-48 hours to get themselves tested. I apologize for having to cancel a few social, political & cultural activities in the next few days. I hope to bounce back with greater zeal and better health asap. Love and light!' She is currently taking a complete bed-rest at her residence.
Saayoni Ghosh is one of the youngest politicians in India. Now Saayoni is not just an actress, she is also the youth leader of the ruling party. In the past few days, Saayoni has been seen in several social, cultural, and political events. In March 2021, she was announced to be All India Trinamool Congress’s candidate for the Asansol Dakshin constituency in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. But, she was defeated by the opposition candidate. Later, she was appointed as the "president of the youth wing of Trinamool Congress", after Abhishek Banerjee has been relieved of the duty.
