Allegation of mental harassment and threats against actor Anirban Bhattacharya

Anirban Bhattacharya is one of the multi-talented stars of Tollywood, who made his mark in the industry with his outstanding performances in films as well as his filmmaking and singing skills. A person close to Anirban has accused him of mental harassment and threats. The admin of Anirban Bhattacharya's facebook page made a post in which she made some allegations against the actor.

The admin of the facebook page made a long post on Anirban Bhattacharya' verified facebook page and wrote ''in 2018, I, the head admin and previously the assigned digital manager of Mr. Bhattacharya started off functioning this page as a fanpage at about 400 followers. We were simply his ardent aficionados who wanted to have a fan platform where his works and ideas can be represented since he was a heavily social media aversive person back then. We got in contact, he was more than willing to turn it into his official page if we handled it on his consent and terms. The page represented him, I got it verified on my own ethically right way, continuously got appreciated for the growth of the page from Facebook India but the heartbreaking thing is, the person this page is dedicated to, treated us like trash. Technically by all means this page never belonged to him or his office people, because he never made any professional contract or documentation with us to recognize our work. This way, he didn't have to pay us, but also keep on making us work for him in silence, for nothing''.

The admin further wrote that ''Bhattacharya was into an exclusive acting contract with one of the biggest production houses in the region and soon all his works, promotions began to be cross promoted on this official platform by us on the direct command of that house and its employees. It began with a simple "please post the trailer from the page, please post that", to "এক্ষুনি পোস্ট কর ","না করলে legal action নেবো" (Even though they were the ones committing the crime for making us do forceful work without minimum wage and on no employment grounds ). Neither Mr Bhattacharya or his team at the house, ever offered any commercial compensation or even basic respect to us. Neither did they ask for the platform's ownership, cause they knew very well to acquire someone's intellectual property you have to offer them a minimum compensation for their years of service, skills, cooperation and resources. (The page currently stands at 1 million + followers, solely achieved by my team and my efforts, resources and support without a single penny being provided to us for our relentless service and maintenance )'' (sic).

The admin did not reveal her identity. However, she clarified that she is a woman, and also said that her life is in danger at the moment but she will come forward if necessary. Anirban has blocked them without saying anything about this, said the female admin of the Facebook page.

When media asked Anirban Bhattacharya about this he replied 'I have nothing to say'. That post went viral on Facebook. 

''Had high regards for Anirban as an actor, didn't expect this from him. But the team is also at fault as when the page was turned to an official page, they should have drafted a legal agreement. As eventually the actors will get their own team of social media professionals. Hope this is resolved soon internally by means of payment terms'' wrote one of the followers of that page.
