Actress Rukmini Maitra will play the principal role in Binodiini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan, the fictional biopic of Bengal's theatre legend Binodini Dasi. About two years ago it was heard that Ram Kamal Mukherjee will make a biopic of Binodini Dasi with Rukmini Maitra. And finally, the director unveiled the first look of the film with Rukmini Maitra as Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a character that Binodini Dasi played on stage.
Her influence on the theater stage of Bengal is still talked about. Ram Kamal Mukherjee will present her life to the screen in his next film Binodiini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan where Rukmini Maitra will be seen as Notee Binodini aka Binodini Dasi. It has already created a huge buzz among fans and the industry too. Fans got excited after seeing Rukmini Maitra's new avatar as Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Rukmini has never been seen playing such a role. She looks completely unrecognizable.

Rukmini Mitra has also been preparing herself for the role for the past two years. She has been quietly working on this film for the past two years. From practicing Indian classical dance to reading various books depicting the social status of women in that era. The work of this film was supposed to start two years ago, but everything got delayed due to the epidemic. With Dev joining the film as a presenter, it truly became a magnum opus.
The story, screenplay, and dialogue of this epic film have been penned by Priyanka Poddar. The detailing in the motion poster, designed by Ekta Bhattacharjee. The music is composed by Nilayan Chatterjee who has composed the music for Dev Starrer films Kacher Manush and Kishmish.
