Actor Anirban Bhattacharya, who made his directional debut with the crime thriller Mandaar wants to take a break as director for the next two years. Anirban Bhattacharya's directional debut Mandaar is one of the biggest hits on the OTT platform. The actor-director also received OTTplay Awards for Best Dialogue (Series) for his directorial debut Mandaar. The series was praised by critics as well as loved by audiences. And with Mandaar, Anirban Bhattacharya made a new mark in the industry as a creator.

In a recent Interview with Anandabazar Patrika, Anirban Bhattacharya said that he only wants to present himself as an actor for the next two years. In that Interview, he said ' As a director, I did two consecutive jobs. But after all, I am an actor. I want to concentrate only on acting for the next two years'. But he is not taking a break as a creator. Planning for upcoming projects has already started.

He further added, the next work is not drama, but some literature can be adopted. But Anirban Bhattacharya is yet to reveal whether it is a film or a web series.

Anirban Bhattacharya directed first feature film Ballabhpurer Roopkotha is slated to hit the theaters on 21st of October. The film has an ensemble cast in which Satyam Bhattacharya and Surangana Bandyopadhyay will be the lead pair. The horror-comedy also stars Shyamal Chakraborty, Kripabindu Chowdhury, Surajit Sarkar, Sumanta Roy, Debraj Bhattacharya, Sandip Bhattacharya, Jhulan Bhattacharya, and Shyamal Sarkar in pivotal roles. The trailer of the film has already created a huge buzz among fans with spooky and fun-filled horror sequences. Now it's time to see will Anirban Bhattacharya be able to make his mark at the box office like his success on digital platforms.
