Cinematographer Soumik Haldar, who is mostly known for his amazing cinematography in Gumnaami, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Kakababur Protyaborton and Guptodhon film series, is going to start a new journey as a filmmaker. Soumik Haldar is all set to make his directional debut on the Big screen with Bibaho Obhijaan 2, starring Ankush Hazra, Nusraat Faria, Rudranil Ghosh, Sohini Sarkar, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Priyanka Sarkar in lead roles along with a few new faces.

In 2019, Birsa Dasgupta's Bibaho Obhijaan received an overwhelming response from the audience as the film had all the entertaining elements that the audience expects in a commercial film. Birsa Dasgupta's Bibaho Obhijaan follows Anupam (Ankush) and Rajat (Rudranil). They decide to get married. Rajat marries Maya (Sohini) who is always busy performing religious rituals or watching tele serials whereas Anupam marries Rai (Nusrat), a women's activist and social worker. Later, they become frustrated with their married life. One has too much adoration for her husband while the other has no time for him. On the other side Ganesh Maity (Anirban), a village boy who loves village girl Malati (Priyanka) but cannot express his feelings. In an attempt to impress her, he turns into a dacoit named Bullet Singh and kidnaps Anupam and Rajat while they were on their way to Darjeeling.

Now the film is set to get a sequel which will be directed by Soumik Haldar. Bibaho Obhijaan 2 will have a few new faces alongside the previous cast. The film will have a few new faces like Sourav Das and two foreigners. Most of the scenes of the film will be shot in Thailand and the rest will be shot in Kolkata. If all goes according to plan, Soumik Haldar will start shooting for the film from the second week of November.
