Saswata, Rituparna, and Parambrata's film 'Mahishasur Marddini' highlights some of the major atrocities in our society

Ranjan Ghosh’s film 'Mahishasur Marddini' which has an ensemble cast including Saswata Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, and Parambrata Chatterjee in key roles highlights some of the major atrocities in our society that women continue to face today. Recently the official trailer of the film has been released. 

Politics, domestic violence, sectarianism, and women's empowerment— Ranjan Ghosh's new film 'Mahishasur Marddini' will highlight many aspects of society.

The film has parallel storylines that revolve around the gangrape and murder of a young girl on the night leading up to Durga Puja, and the discovery of a baby girl abandoned in a garbage bin while preparations for the festival continue in the backdrop.

Apart from Saswata Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, and Parambrata Chatterjee, the film also stars Shaheb Bhattacherjee along with some young actors like Sritama Dey, Arunima Halder, Abhyuday Dey, Purbasha Mal, Koushik Kar, and Poulomi Das in pivotal roles.

Rituparna Sengupta said, the women of society who are constantly fighting will be appreciated through the film. It is very important to release this film. Sometimes things happen in the society that makes you feel very helpless. Maybe I can't do anything. But through this film, I can give a message to women to grow up.
