Singer Murali Mohapatra passes away

Singer Murali Mohapatra died on the stage while performing at a Durga Puja cultural event. He was one of the popular singers in the Odia entertainment industry. The tragic incident happened last Sunday night (2nd October). He collapsed on stage while performing at a Durga Puja cultural event in Odisha's Koraput district.

According to the report, after singing four songs, he suddenly sat down on his chair and began to sweat profusely. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Bibhuti Prasad Mohapatra, the elder brother of late Murali Mohapatra, said that the singer died due to a heart attack on Sunday night (2nd October). 

Besides being a singer, he was also a government official. He worked at the office of the Jeypore sub-collector. He was set to retire from service nine months later. The incident cast a shadow of grief in the music Industry. The incident reminded people of singer KK’s death at a hotel after a concert in Kolkata earlier this year.
