Monami Ghosh to star opposite Chanchal Chowdhury in Srijit Mukherji's film Padatik

Here is some good news for the fans of Monami Ghosh. The talented lady has bagged the female lead in Srijit Mukherji's 'Padatik' where Chanchal Chowdhury will be seen opposite her. The film has already created a strong buzz in the industry since its announcement. 'Padatik', which is inspired by legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen, will see Monami Ghosh playing Mrinal Sen's wife Geeta Sen.

Firdausul Hasan, the producer of the film has confirmed that Monami Ghosh will be seen in the role of Mrinal Sen's wife where Chanchal Chowdhury will play the role of the celebrated filmmaker. Interestingly, Monami Ghosh and Chanchal Chowdhury will be seen together on screen for the first time. The film also marks Monami Ghosh's first collaboration with director Srijit Mukherji, where she will be the leading lady of his film. 

In an interview with a popular news daily, Ghosh said, 'this is my first work with Srijit Da. He called me to his office. I couldn't believe hearing all this. I wanted to dance for joy. But at the same time, it made me nervous. Srijit Da actually threw a big challenge at me.'

'The film will depict Geeta Sen from her childhood to her adulthood. So, we have to take help of prosthetic makeup' said Firdausul Hasan. Monami said that she has been trying to be Geeta Sen ever since she was offered the role. She said, 'Srijit Da has given a video clip where Geeta Sen is seen.

If everything goes according to plan, Srijit Mukherji will start shooting for the film from the second week of this month.
