Bengali CID Actor Atish Bhattacharya arrested

Bengali actor Atish Bhattacharya, who became popular for his role in the Bengali TV series CID, has been arrested by the Kolkata Police for allegedly beating and molesting his live-in partner. Atish Bhattacharya's live-in partner, who is a fashion model has lodged a complaint against him at Haridevpur Police Station.

According to police sources, Atish had forced his partner to stay at Netaji Nagar's house on January 29. The model has also accused Atish of beating and sexual harassment. Officials of Harideb police station arrested Atish from Netaji Nagar house on the same night after receiving the complaint.

The model was in a live-in relationship with Atish for six months. She decided to stay under the same roof with Atish because of love. However, the victim alleges that Atish has tortured her in every way over six months. The model also alleged that Atish used to slap, kick, punch, and even bite her. The model said that Atish threatened to make the situation worse if she went to the police. But when the situation escalated, she approached the police.

When she fell ill after being beaten, she was admitted to Bangur Hospital for treatment.

According to hospital sources, the victim has multiple injuries on his body. The face has sore spots in multiple places. There are several sore spots on the face and deep teeth marks on the body. 

Apart from the Bengali detective series, Atish Bhattacharya acted in several television series like Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and Jaane Kya Hoga Rama Re.
