Rahul Banerjee slams Dev for playing Byomkesh in Byomkesh Durgo Rahasya

It is already known that Tollywood heartthrob will be seen playing the lead role in Boymkesh Durgo Rahasya. On January 28, 2023, Dev completed 17 years of his journey in Tollywood. And on the completion of 17 years in the Industry, Dev announced ''Byomkesh Durgo Rahasya''. While many are excited to see Dev as Byomkesh in the film, a section of netizens criticized Dev for the same reason. 

And now, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, who is also a popular face in the Bengali entertainment industry has slammed Dev for playing the role of Byomkesh in Boymkesh Durgo Rahasya. Taking to his social media handle, Rahul Banerjee shared a post and captioned, 'Khushwant Singh's joke: Two Punjabis playing chess, and Bengali joke: Dev Byomkesh.' Fans had no trouble understanding the irony in Rahul's post.

Although Dev himself did not open his mouth on Rahul's sarcastic post, producer Rana Sarkar responded by praising Dev for his portrayal of Byomkesh in his long Facebook post. He penned 'Dev will work hard to embody the character of Byomkesh, Durgo Rahasya will be the highest box office grosser of all time, and Dev will be much better on the big screen than Sujoy Ghosh, Uttam Kumar and poor OTT superstars as Byomkesh.'
