Sayantan Ghosal is bringing Tenida back to the screen with ''Tenida and Company''

Filmmaker Sayantan Ghosal is bringing back one of Bengali's much-loved characters Tenida with his upcoming film ''Tenida and Company'', starring Kanchan Mullick in the lead role. After Chinmoy Roy and Subhasish Mukherjee, renowned actor Kanchan Mullick will be seen playing the popular character Tenida aka Bhajahari Mukhujjee on the screen through Sayantan Ghosal's film.

Apart from Kanchan Mullick, ''Tenida and Company'' also features Gaurav Chakrabarty, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Paran Bandopadhyay, Ridhima Ghosh, Soumendra Bhattacharya, Sourav Saha, and Mithu Chakrabarty in pivotal roles. 

Ever since the makers released the first look of Kanchan Mullick as Tenida, it has created a quite buzz among the audience and has received both negative and positive responses. Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, ''Tenida and Company'' is based on Narayan Gangopadhyay's ''Jhaubanglar Rohosyo'' from Children's literature. 

Today, the makers released the official trailer of Sayantan Ghosal's ''Tenida and Company'' and also revealed the release date of the film. The movie will hit the cinema halls on 19th May, this year.

Late actor Chinmoy Roy comes to mind when we think of Tenida on the silver screen. But he is not the only actor who played Tenida on screen. Chinmoy Roy played the character in Umanath Bhattacharya'a Chaarmurti. Later, Subhashish Mukherjee portrayed the character in Chinmoy Roy's film of the same title. Tenida was also portrayed by Rabi Ghosh on Television. And now, Kanchan Mullick will be seen playing Tenida under Sayantan Ghosal's direction.
