Satyam Bhattacharya, the actor expected to play a pivotal role in Jeet's Boomerang, had to back out a day before the start of filming due to eye infection. As a result, Saurav Das, another prominent actor in the industry, stepped in to replace him and join the cast of the film.
Actor Satyam Bhattacharya took to social media to share this news with fans. Taking to social media, Bhattacharya shared a notice explaining why he pulled himself out of Jeet's Boomerang.
In the post, the 'Ballabhpurer Roopkotha' actor wrote ''This is to let you all know that due to a long term illness (Viral Haemorrhagic Conjunctivitis) and a joint decision by the director, producers and myself, I am pulling myself off the much anticipated film 'Boomerang'. My heartiest gratitude to Director Sauvik Kundu, Producer Gopal Madnani , Associate Director Souvik Mondal and the entire team, as they tried to accommodate me till the last day before shoot. But unfortunately I was not healing fast enough. And there is always a risk of infecting others with the virus. So overall it's a conscious and right decision from all the parties. And I am so glad and happy that my friend and a brilliant actor Saurav Das will be replacing me in the film. All my best wishes to the team and especially to JEET , Rukmini Maitra , Debchandrima, Ambarish Bhattacharya da, Shyamal da, Jhulan Di. I'm sure BOOMERANG will be a roaring success.'' (sic)

Directed by Souvik Kundu, 'Boomerang' movie will have a fresh pairing of Superstar Jeet and Rukmini Maitra. Another interesting thing is that actress Debchandrima Singha Roy, who is mostly known for her television dramas like Sanjher Baati and Shaheber Chithi, will be seen playing a key role opposite Saurav Das in the film.
Director Souvik Kundu has already started shooting the film from yesterday (20th July).
Apart from Boomerang, Satyam Bhattacharya has several films and web series in his kitty. The actor recently wrapped up the shoot for Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee's action thriller 'Raktabeej', starring Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty in lead roles. He will also be seen in Dev's upcoming detective thriller 'Byomkesh O Durga Rahashya' which also stars Rukmini Maitra, and Ambarish Bhattacharya in pivotal roles. Bhattacharya is also starring in Abhinandan Dutta's thriller series 'Nandini Murder Case' and Rahool Mukherjis' debut web series which will premiere on a leading OTT platform.
