Soham Chakraborty joins Dev and Avijit Sen for 'Prodhan'

After the phenomenal success of Tonic, the blockbuster trio Dev, director Avijit Sen and producer Atanu Roychowdhury have teamed up again for Prodhan, which will feature popular TV actress Soumitrisha Kundu in the female lead. And now it is known that another renowned actor of the industry Soham Chakraborty has joined the cast.

Speculations were rife for the past few days that Soham is expected to share the screen with Dev in a new film, though the actor did not say anything about it at that time. Earlier Soham Chakraborty shared the screen with Dev in Birsa Dasgupta's romantic film Shudhu Tomari Jonyo, which also starred Srabanti Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty. However, fans were hoping that the news turned out to be true. And finally, the good news has come for Soham Chakraborty's fans.

Soham Chakraborty confirmed that he will be a part of Avijit Sen's family drama 'Prodhan which will feature Tollywood heartthrob Dev and Mithai fame Soumitrisha Kundu as the lead pair. Veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay will also be seen playing a key role in the film. The film also marks Soumitrisha Kundu's film debut.

There are also rumors that actor Anirban Chakrabarti, known for playing Eken Babu on screen, will be seen in a pivotal role in the movie. However, there has been no confirmation from the producers, actors, or director’s team. 

Meanwhile, the lead actor and co-producer of 'Prodhan', Dev has already started working on the film and preparing himself for his character in the film. On the other hand, Dev's detective thriller 'Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasyo' is set to hit the theaters on 11th August. And his much-awaited film 'Bagha Jatin' is scheduled to release on 20th October this year. 

Soham Chakraborty was last seen on screen in Sayantan Ghosal's LSD (Laal Suitcase Ta Dekhechen?). Produced by Soham's Entertainment, the film also featured Laboni Sarkar, Saayoni Ghosh and Abhijit Guha alongside Soham Chakraborty.
