Tollywood Star Dev in Satyajit Ray's Nayak adaptation! Deets Inside

Tollywood Heartthrob Dev, who recently revealed his look as Byomkesh Bakshi and Bagha Jatin is rumored to be seen in a film that will be an adaptation of Satyajit Ray's Nayak, starring Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles.

Going by the latest report, Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee is going to make a film to pay homage to Satyajit Ray's film Nayak where Tollywood heartthrob Dev will be seen playing the main protagonist. 

Satyajit Ray's drama film Nayak, starring Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles, was released in 1966. Later, renowned filmmaker Srijit Mukherji made a film titled 'Autograph' to pay tribute to the film and the Oscar-winning filmmaker Satyajit Ray. In Srijit Mukherji's 'Autograph', versatile actor Prosenjit Chatterjee played the main protagonist.

And now filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who recently wrapped up the shoot for Rukmini Maitra starrer 'Binodiini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan', is about to make a movie with Superstar Dev, which will be an adaptation of Satyajit Ray's Nayak.

Many of you might think that this is going to be a remake of Satyajit Ray's film Nayak, but no, it is known that this movie will be made as a tribute to the film and the director.

However, neither the director nor the actor has given an official statement in this regard. Ram Kamal Mukherjee told 'Anandabazar Patrika' that the work of Binodiini film is not finished yet. Although the shooting is over, the rest of the work of the movie is still in progress.

Meanwhile, Dev Starrer 'Byomkesh O Durga Rahasya' is all set to hit the theaters on 11th August, this year. Directed by Birsa Dasgupta, the detective thriller stars Dev as Byomkesh Bakshi, Rukmini Maitra as Satyabati, and Ambarish Bhattacharya as Ajit.
