Lyricist Kingshuk Chatterjee passes away at 45

Lyricist Kingshuk Chatterjee has passed away at the age of 45. Musician Soumya Bose has shared the news on his social media handles. Kingshuk Chatterjee breathed his last at a hospital in South Kolkata this Wednesday morning. It is known that he was suffering from liver problems for a long time.

Kingshuk Chatterjee, who wrote songs like O Baul - (Singer - Rupankar Bagchi), Tomra Bhebe Korbe Ki (Singer - Rupankar Bagchi), and Bhire Bhire (Singer - Haimanti Sukla) was a resident of Barasat in West Bengal. According to his family sources, he often came home sick. When his condition worsened again, he was admitted to the hospital. Chatterjee was hospitalized for the past one month.

Musician Soumya Basu told Anandabazar Patrika that Kingshuk Chatterjee stopped writing songs due to illness for a long time. In 2016, he started writing songs and poems again. Kingshuk Chatterjee wrote various songs for many popular singers including Haimanti Sukla, Silajit Majumder, Rupankar Bagchi, and Nachiketa Chakraborty.
