Mimi Chakraborty is one of the most popular and successful actresses in Tollywood who is known for her commercial success like Bojhena Shey Bojhena, Yoddha: The Warrior, Shudhu Tomari Jonyo, Ki Kore Toke Bolbo, Kelor Kirti, etc. She has also been appreciated by the makers for her amazing screen presence in critically acclaimed films like Posto, Dhananjoy, Dracula Sir, and Khela Jawkhon. And now the latest report suggests that Mimi Chakraborty is going to make her debut on the OTT platform with a new web series where she will be sharing the screen with Tota Roy Chowdhury, who is also known for his powerpack performance on screen.
As per the latest reports, Mimi Chakraborty has been approached by the makers of a leading OTT platform for their new original series where she will be the leading lady, and Tota Roy Chowdhury will play a pivotal role opposite her.
It is also known that the series will be directed by Chandrasish Ray who earlier worked as an assistant director to National Award-winning filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly. Prior to this, Chandrasish Ray directed Prosenjit Chatterjee and Satyam Bhattacharya in his film Nirontor which was released in 2020. And now, Chandrasish Ray is going to make a web series for Hoichoi OTT platform featuring Mimi Chakraborty and Tota Roy Chowdhury in lead roles.
Meanwhile, Mimi Chakraborty recently wrapped the shoot for Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy's thriller film Raktabeej, co-starring Abir Chatterjee, Victor Banerjee, Anashua Majumdar, and Debasish Mondal in pivotal roles. Raktabeej is scheduled to release in theaters on the occasion of Durga Puja, this year.
On the other hand, Tota Roy Chowdhury's web series Nikhoj, co-starring Swastika Mukherjee as the female lead is set to premiere on 11th August 2023, on 'Hoichoi'.
