Actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay's younger sister Piyashi Chatterjee passes away

Actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay's younger sister Piyashi Chatterjee, who was grown up with the actor, has died at the age of 40. According to reports, Piyashi Chatterjee contracted dengue and was admitted to a hospital where she breathed her last. Actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay himself shared the news with his fans on social media.

Actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay posted a Facebook post last Tuesday midnight appealing that his sister is suffering from dengue, and he needs A + blood to save her sister. Responding to the actor's appeal, many came forward to donate blood. But the last defense did not happen. Saheb Chattopadhyay's sister Piyashi Chatterjee died that night.

Actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay took to his Facebook page to share the sad news of losing his sister on a heartfelt note, thanking the blood donors. Sharing the news, the actor penned ''In reference to my last post (yesterday ‘s) regarding arrangement for A+ donors for my younger sister Piyashi Chatterjee,who was admitted at Belview,i want to thank each & everyone of the donors who have travelled far distances to help me save my sister.. But,i feel extremely shaken and devastated to inform you that she is no more..Dengue killed her within a span of 3 nights. Hence i would not require any more donors for her.. Please pray for her eternal bliss and peace. OM SHREE SAIRAM''. (sic)

''I do not understand what happened! All these incidents happened in just a span of two days. Piyashi is my cousin and we grew up together. She has a two-month-old daughter. She came to Kolkata from Delhi to show my mother her newborn baby. She was only 40 years old. She contracted dengue and died of multi-organ failure'' said Shaheb Chattopadhyay in an interaction with Anandabazar Patrika.
