Actress Sampurna Lahiri opens up about why she left her show Bangla Medium

Actress Sampurna Lahiri, who was playing a key role in the show Bangla Medium, will no longer be seen in the show as her part as Sohana Das, is coming to an end. As per the report, Sampurna Lahiri has already wrapped up the shoot for the show last Thursday. The actress also confirmed the news in a media interaction.

When Sampurna Lahiri was asked about this, she said, ''it is not a personal decision at all. The decision has been made by the channel and the production house. They felt that the character I was playing is not needed in the story now and there is no better place to use me in the current storyline of the series. So, I also gave them the NOC.''

''Every artist tries to give their 100% to their project. But whether the audience likes it or not is in nobody's hands. 'Bangla Medium' has never done anything bad. Although 'Bangla Medium' is not the top show of the channel, it has got a lot of love from the audience and also gives a good number of TRP ratings to the channel'' Sampurna Lahiri further added.

Sampurna Lahiri's work front

Sampurna Lahiri made a comeback on TV after almost three years with the show Bangla Medium. Sampurna bagged the key role of Hena aka Sohana Das in the show where Tiyasha Lepcha and Neel Bhattacharya playing the lead roles. However, she will not be seen in this series anymore. 

Sampurna Lahiri is one of the popular faces among Bengali audiences. She has been a part of various shows like Najor, Tare Ami Chokhe Dekhini, Bigg Boss Bangla, Byomkesh, Robi Thakurer Golpo, etc.  Besides TV series, Sampurna has film credits too. She acted in several Bengali films like Goray Gandogol, Paanch Adhyay, Durga Sohay, Shankar Mudi, etc. Apart from all these, Sampurna also produced Mainak Bhoumik's family drama film Mini in which Mimi Chakraborty played the lead role.
