Actress Ananya Chatterjee, known for her powerpack performances in movies and series like Teen Kanya, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Jaatishwar, and Mohomaya, has bagged a new web series that will be directed by the renowned filmmaker Arindam Sil. This time, Ananya Chatterjee has been roped in by Arindam Sil to play a key role in his upcoming web series based on Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay's novel 'Adarsha Hindu Hotel' which was published in 1940.
Bangladeshi actor Mosharraf Karim, who has been part of several Tollywood films like Dictionary and Hubba, will play the male lead in the series where Ananya Chatterjee will be the leading lady.
Young actress Ushasi Ray, who was recently seen in Hoichoi series 'Kumudini Bhavan', will be seen playing an important role alongside Ananya Chatterjee and Mosharraf Karim in this web series, directed by Arindam Sil.
Yes, the director of Jongole Mitin Mashi, Arindam Sil is going to make a period drama series featuring Ananya Chatterjee, Mosharraf Karim, and Ushasi Ray in lead roles. Apart from these three stars, the series will also have some prominent actors from the industry like Loknath Dey, Subhrajit Dutta, Asim Roy Chowdhury, Reshmi Sen, and Samiul Alam in pivotal roles.
''If I don't make it as a period drama, the essence of the original writing won't come out properly. Mosharraf Karim is the only name that came to my mind for the role of Hajari Thakur while I was writing the script. And after listening to the script, he agreed to play the role'' said Arindam Sil. While Mosharraf Karim will be seen in the role of Hajari Thakur, Ananya Chatterjee will play the role of Padma.
If all goes according to plan, Arindam Sil will start shooting for the series in December 2023 or January 2024. The series will be streaming on a brand-new OTT platform launched by Camellia Productions Pvt. Ltd.
Meanwhile, Arindam Sil is currently busy with his upcoming detective thriller Jongole Mitin Mashi, starring Koel Mallick in the lead role. The film is slated to hit the theaters on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja this year.
