'Jagaddhatri' fame Ankita Mallick to play Mahishasura Mardini; Ditipriya Roy plays a key role in Mahalaya show

Actress Ankita Mallick, who became a household name for playing the titular role in the show, ' Jagaddhatri', will portray the character of Mahishasura Mardini in Mahalaya show for the first time. People have already started the countdown for the much-awaited festival Durga Puja. Every year the entertainment channels compete to present the best shows in Mahalaya. Viewers are also interested to know which actress will be seen as Mahishasur Mardini on the channels.

This year, actress Ankita Mallick will be seen as Mahishasura Mardini in the show, 'Mahalaya' which will be telecast on another popular entertainment channel Zee Bangla. Initially, 'Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni' fame Ditipriya Roy was supposed to play Mahishasura Mardini on Zee Bangla. But now it is confirmed that Ankita Mallick will be seen as Mahishasura Mardini on Zee Bangla. And the good news is that Ditipriya Roy is also a part of this special show. Ditipriya will be seen playing a pivotal role in the show where Ankita Mallick will play Mahishasura Mardini.

In an interaction with Anandabazar Patrika, Ditipriya Roy said, ''Yes, I am also a part of this show along with Ankita Mallick. It will be a surprise for my fans. The makers have scripted the show differently where I will be seen in a different avatar which has never been seen before.''

Ankita Mallick made her television debut and became a household name for playing the titular role opposite Soumyadeep Mukherjee in Zee Bangla's show Jagaddhatri'. The model-turned-actress is one of the beloved actresses among Bengali audiences these days. 

And talking about Ditipriya Roy, she needs no introduction to the Bengali audience. The young and talented actress has already made her mark in the Bengali entertainment Industry. Ditipriya Roy became a household name for playing the role of Rani Maa in 'Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni' which aired on Zee Bangla. Apart from the mythological show, Ditipriya Roy has been a part of several movies and web series like 'Rajkahini', 'Dev: I Love You', 'Avijatrik', 'Aay Khuku Aay', 'Rudrabinar Obhishaap', 'Bodhon', 'Dakghor', 'Rajneeti' etc.
