Dev and Srijit Mukherji to make a thriller film

Here's some good news for Dev and Srijit Mukherji fans and movie lovers who are eagerly waiting for their film. A few months back, actor-producer Dev announced that he is doing a big-budget film which will be directed by industry-renowned filmmaker Srijit Mukherji. Meanwhile, Srijit Mukherji's recent release Dawshom Awbotaar became the biggest blockbuster at West Bengal box office. On the other hand, Dev released his most anticipated film Bagha Jatin on the auspicious occasion of Dura Puja, this year and it also earned a decent collection at the box office. Now, it is known that Dev and Srijit Mukherji will be making a thriller in 2024.

Going by the latest reports, Dev's next film with Srijit Mukherji will be a thriller film that is expected to be released on the occasion of Dura Puja 2024. However, the official announcement is yet to be made as neither the actor nor the director opened their lips on this matter. Well, it was also reported Rukmini Maitra will be seen playing the female lead opposite Dev under Srijit Mukherji's direction.

In July 2023, Tollywood's most popular actor-producer Dev officially announced that he is doing a film with Srijit Mukherji where Rukmini Maitra will be the leading lady. Taking to social media, Dev shared this news along with a couple of pictures with Srijit Mukherji and Rukmini Maitra. Prior to this, Dev worked under Srijit Mukherji's directorial in Zulfiqar which also starred Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ankush Hazra, Jisshu Sengupta, Nusrat Jahan, and many prominent actors from the industry. 

This untitled film will be Dev's second film with Srijit Mukherji after Zulfiqar. Well, there was a buzz that the film will be based on the ''Battle of Palasi'' in which Dev will play Siraj ud-Daulah, known as the ''Nawab Of Bengal''.
