Bengali audiences will get to see a fresh new pairing on their screen as a leading general entertainment channel is going to launch a new TV serial 'Cheeni' soon. The show was announced by another leading entertainment channel Star Jalsha on 7th December. Now, the channel is all set to launch its new show Cheeni where Somraj Maity and Indrani Bhattacharyya are to be seen playing the lead roles.
The new TV serial Cheeni, Starring Indrani Bhattacharyya and Somraj Maity in lead roles, starts on 12th January 2024 and will be telecast Monday to Sunday at 10:30 pm on the screen of Star Jalsha. Yes, you read that right. The new show Cheeni replaces the slot of Tunte. Today (30th December), the channel has officially announced the telecast time for the show, Cheeni on social media handles.
The thriller TV serial will feature Somraj Maity and Indrani Bhattacharyya as the lead pair, where Indrani will play the titular role and Somraj will be seen as her love interest. Apart from these two young artists, the show also stars Sohag Sen in a pivotal role. The veteran actress is likely to play a negative role in the show.
Speaking about the show, it revolves around the protagonist Cheeni (played by Indrani), who lost her mother in Childhood and lives with her father. On the other hand, Drone (Somraj), is the beloved grandson of the Roychowdhury family, where Cheeni's father works as a driver.

In the promo we see, protagonist Cheeni enter into Roychowdhury's mention and soon she encounters some unusual things in the house. She sees the car in which she came here burning and a bride trying to get out of the burning car. Cheeni starts shouting ''The car is on fire, and it's burning..." and comes out of the house where hero Drone (Somraj) stops her and convinces her that it's just her imagination.
