Paoli Dam to portray a politician in Aritra Sen's political thriller

Filmmaker Aritra Sen, who earned immense love last year from both audiences and critics for the romantic drama Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine, is going to make a political thriller series 'Julie' with acclaimed actress Paoli Dam. The talented actress, who has been a part of various movies in multiple languages, is going to portray a politician for the first time through this web series 'Julie', directed by Aritra Sen. 

Paoli Dam has been roped in by director Aritra Sen to play the titular role in his next political thriller web series 'Julie' which will be streaming on a leading OTT platform. This web series is not just about politics, it is a story of women empowerment that revolves around human trafficking. It is the story of the journey of a sex worker who becomes a politician.

Apart from Paoli Dam, the series also stars Shruti Das, Kaushik Sen, Gourab Chatterjee, Arno Mukhopadhyay, and Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee in pivotal roles. While Paoli Dam will be seen playing the lead role of Julie, Shruti Das will be seen in an important role opposite Paoli in the series. 

The shooting of this series will start from March 20. Aritra's 'Julie' will be streaming on Addatimes.

Talking about the series, Paoli Dam said ''I am working with Aritra again after Kali 2. I like the character graph after listening to the script. An outcast woman is fighting for her rights. At the same time, there is also a story of women empowerment where the lead character has different shades. There are three or four different looks. And another exciting thing is that the shooting will be in real locations''.
