The news of actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty's illness suddenly came to the fore on Wednesday morning. It is known that "Feluda" aka Sabyasachi Chakrabarty was admitted to a private hospital in the city on Tuesday night with chest pain. Without revealing much about Chakraborty's illness, Mithu Chakraborty, wife of the veteran actor has confirmed the news of her husband's hospitalization.
However, according to hospital sources, the actor had a blockage in his heart. So the doctors suggested to install a pacemaker quickly. Following the doctor's advice, the actor underwent surgery on Wednesday evening at a private hospital in Kolkata. Sabyasachi Chakraborty is currently under observation. Doctors will take the next decision on Thursday.
Sabyasachi Chakraborty recently attended the Annaprashan function for her grandson Dheer. The veteran actor was seen enjoying the event with new parents Gaurav Chakraborty and Ridhima Ghosh.
Sabyasachi Chakraborty told the media at the Dhaka Film Festival last year that he is leaving the film industry. ''My time is up, now I am retired. I am leaving the cinema. Now it's time to retire. Many filmmakers approached me but I never said yes to them'' said Sabyasachi Chakraborty to the reporters in Bangladesh.
However, a few days after that interview, the actor told reporters in Kolkata that his words had been misinterpreted. He said, ''I was constantly being asked when I would be back on screen. Then I got annoyed and said, actually I am retiring. My words have been misinterpreted.''
