Veteran actress Basanti Chatterjee, who has been a part of several television dramas including Geeta LLB, has reportedly been hospitalized for the past few days. The 86-year-old actress has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata. According to the reports, Basanti Devi is suffering from cancer. The veteran actress is currently admitted to a private hospital in Dum Dum with several physical ailments. She is now quite well, but still in the ICU.
Popular actor Bhaswar Chatterjee, who plays Basanti Chatterjee's reel son in Geeta LLB, has asked for financial help, in a post on his Facebook handle. Sharing the post, Bhaswar Chatterjee wrote "Everyone's favorite actress Basanti Chatterjee is sick for long time. Apart from cancer, she has various ailments. Recently she was admitted to ICU due to kidney and heart problems. She is admitted to a small nursing home near Dum Dum station''.

It is also known that Malay Chaki, the driver of the veteran actress, has taken responsibility for her health in the absence of her family. In an interview with TV 9 Bangla, Malay Chaki, said that she was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata before Saraswati Puja. Malay borrowed and settled the bill of 2 lakh to the hospital.
