Makers have unveiled Athhoi Teaser, featuring Arna Mukhopadhyay, Sohini Sarkar, and Anirban Bhattacharya

Makers have unveiled the official teaser of Athhoi, starring Arna Mukhopadhyay, Sohini Sarkar, and Anirban Bhattacharya in lead roles. Ever since the announcement of this romantic thriller drama, a section of the audience has been eagerly waiting for it as acclaimed actor Arna Mukhopadhyay makes his directional debut on the big screen. On the other hand, Anirban Bhattacharya is associated with this film as the creative director besides playing a lead role in the film.

On Wednesday, SVF Entertainment officially released Athhoi's teaser on the social media platforms, creating a new frenzy among the audience. The short video clip takes you into the dark world of Athhoi, filled with friendship, love, betrayal, and revenge.

Based on William Shakespeare’s Othello, Athhoi will be released on 14th June, summer 2024.

Apart from Arna Mukhopadhyay, Sohini Sarkar, and Anirban Bhattacharya, the film also stars Arpan Ghoshal, Mimi Dutta, and Ditipriya Roy in pivotal roles. It is a joint venture of SVF and Jio Studios.

In the director's words, ''With Athhoi, we have tried to highlight the complexities of people's deep emotions. We have tried to present the timeless saga of Shakespeare in today's context. Through this film, we will try to catch the attention of the audience, the aim is to make them discuss the emotions like love, jealousy, and ambition in today's era''.

For the unawares, it was 2016, when the Bengali theatre group Natadha staged its Othello adaptation Athoi. Directed by Arna Mukhopadhyay, the play featured Anirban Bhattacharya, Turna Das, and Arna Mukhopadhyay in the lead. Athoi is even considered one of the most successful dramas of Bengal in recent times. In that play, Arno played Athoi, aka Othello, and Anirban as Anogro and Iago while Turna played Diamona, aka Desdemona. However, Turna Das was later replaced by Sohini Sarkar.
