National award-winning filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly is going to pay homage on the birth anniversary of legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen. On Mrinal Sen's 100th birth anniversary, Kaushik Ganguly will bring a new film 'Palan' to pay homage to him. 'He is one of the finest directors in our country. His ideas and attitude towards cinema were remarkable. His film 'Kharij' released in 1982 inspired me to make 'Palan', said Kaushik Ganguly. Although the story of the film is inspired by Kharij, 'Palan' will be made in the context of the present time.

Kaushik Ganguly's film 'Palan' will have a strong cast where we will see Jisshu Sengupta, Paoli Dam, Anjan Dutta, Mamata Shankar, Shreela Majumder, Debpratim Dasgupta, and others. Director Kaushik Ganguly will start shooting for his film in the last week of this month. The film will be shot in and around Kolkata. The film is produced by Pratik Chakraborty and Suven Kumar Das where cinematography will be done by Appu Prabhakar and Neel Dutta will handle the music department of this film.

Kaushik Ganguly's other film 'Kabaddi Kabaddi' is a sports drama film where  Arjun Chakrabarty, Ritwick Chakraborty, and Sohini Sarkar will play the lead roles. The film has a love triangle with sports as the backdrop.
