Shayan Mukherjee who recently met an accident has recovered and is back on the shooting set. This time he will be seen in Colors Bangla's new drama series. Shayan Mukherjee bagged the male lead in Canning Er Minu serial where he will be seen opposite Diya Basu.

Canning Er Minu serial features Shayan Mukherjee and Diya Basu as the lead pair where Diya Basu will play the titular role and Shayan will play Soumya Ghosal and Minu's love interest. Apart from the leads, veteran actor Dipankar De will also be seen in a key role in this new drama series. Dipankar De will play Soumya’s grandfather Mrityunjay Ghosal who is a Chief Minister.

The story follows Minu from Canning, who works at Ghosal's house as a house help. Minu is honest, brave, loyal, hardworking, and always ready to help the people around her. Soumya’s grandfather, who was unaware of Minu's leadership qualities, learns about it when Soumya shows him a viral video in which Minu confronts the goons who were after a young couple. He sees how Minu bravely tackles goons, encourages others to stand up against injustice, and even helps the lovebirds get married. Soumya's grandfather is impressed by Minu and he proudly tells everyone that Minu would be a perfect representative of common people.
