Today (21st August), Koushik Roy and Trina Saha Starrer daily soap Khorkuto concluded its journey on TV. The show was launched on 17th August 2020 and the last episode of the show aired on 21st August 2022. After completing two years of journey Gungun and Soujanyo took off from the television screen. Fans were furious with writer Leena Gangopadhyay after hearing the news that the series would end with Gungun's death. Later, Gungun aka actress Trina Saha said that there is a special surprise for the fans and the special surprise will please everyone. That twist really came into the story and Gungun came back.

The last episode of Khorkuto:

In the last episode of Khorkuto we see, after the death of Gungun, the story takes a leap of 25 years. And there we meet Dr. Koushik Majumder's daughter Gungun aka Shrotoshwini Majumder, a therapist at a hospital who looks like previous Gungun. We also meet Gungun and Soujanyo's son Sourin Mukherjee aka Ishaan, an oncologist at the same hospital. Ishaan also looks exactly like his father. And just like the previous Gungun, this Gungun is equally fun and has the same catchy nature. And Ishaan and Gungun are fighting like before. Seeing this, the entire Mukherjee family will feel like an old love story is being recreated.

Regarding the audience's reaction to Gungun's death, Trina replied, 'I thought, if something like this happens, people will remember Gungun for the rest of their lives. And the story needed something like this, only then the audience will remember Gungun for the rest of their lives. There is a special surprise for the audience and I believe, the surprise will please everyone. The regret that was created in the audience's mind after losing the previous Gungun was resolved now. Just as fans wanted, the Khorkuto family got the 'happy ending'. The drama series ended its journey with 715 episodes.
