Madhumita Sarcar and Aparajita Adhya to reunite for Mainak Bhaumik's Cheeni 2

Hey, did you enjoy the movie 'Cheeni' starring Madhumita Sarcar and Aparajita Adhya in lead roles? I think yes, you did. The mother-daughter duo taught us that our mothers can be our best friends too. A family drama for all ages which is a very entertaining package.

And once again, the duo of Madhumita Sarcar and Aparajita Adhya will be seen on the silver screen. Yes, Mainak Bhaumik, who previously directed Madhumita and Aparajita in Cheeni, is bringing the duo back with Cheeni 2. 

Madhumita took to Instagram to share the news of her new venture with the world, including her fans. In the post, Madhumita shared some pictures of the Mahurat moment with co-stars and crew members.

Well, 'Cheeni 2' is not a sequel of 'Cheeni' which was released in 2020. In the director's words, this film will be more of a metaphoric continuation revolving around a young girl who befriends a woman who’s her mother's age. How they help each to solve the problems in each other’s love stories is the main focus of this new film which is about two best friends from two different generations.

Apart from Aparajita Adhya and Madhumita Sarcar, Cheeni 2 also stars Anirban Chakraborti and Soumya Mukherjee in pivotal roles. While Anirban will be seen as Aparajita’s husband Shubho, Soumya Mukherjee has been roped in the role of a confused young lad Sammy who has a soft corner for Cheeni (Madhumita). Note, this is the first time, Anirban Chakraborti will be seen opposite Aparajita Adhya.
