Srijit Mukherji and Ditipriya Roy to reunite for the biopic of Nationalist Bina Das

Actress Ditipriya Roy, who became a household name for playing Rani Rashmoni on the TV screen, has bagged a new film which will be directed by popular filmmaker Srijit Mukherji. Going by the latest report, Srijit Mukherji has cast the young actress Ditipriya Roy for his upcoming film based on Bina Das, an Indian revolutionary and nationalist from West Bengal.

Actress Ditipriya Roy, who was recently seen in Hoichoi's series Raajneeti, will be seen playing the centric role in the film under Srijit Mukherji's direction. Ditipriya Roy will be seen in the role of young Bina Das in the biopic, but it is not yet known who will be seen as the mature Bina Das.

Prior to this, Ditipriya Roy was seen in Srijit Mukherji's historical drama film Rajkahini which also starred Rituparna Sengupta, Jisshu Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee, Jaya Ahsan, Sohini Sarkar and many well-known actors of the industry.

When Ditipriya Roy was asked about this, she told Hindustan Times Bangla, "It was a big surprise for me too. We have been talking about this for a long time. But I did not think that the news would be published so soon. I still don't know much about this. The work can start by December-January.''

Well, Srijit Mukherji is currently busy with his upcoming web series based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay's Durgo Rahasya. Srijit Mukherji's Byomkesh series stars Anirban Bhattacharya in the titular role where Rahul Banerjee will play Ajit and Sohini Sarkar will play Satyabati. After that detective series, Mukherji will start working on 'Dasham Avatar', a double prequel of 'Baise Srabon' and 'Vinci Da'. With this action thriller, Srijit Mukherji going to introduce first-ever Bengali 'Cop Universe' featuring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Jisshu Sengupta, and Subhashree Ganguly.
