Nandini Web series: Ritabhari Chakraborty to fight against Female Infanticide in her debut series

Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty, who was last seen in the film Fatafati, is gearing up for her debut web series Nandini, which starts streaming on 15th October on a leading OTT platform. Directed by Mir Falaq, Nandini series is a women-centric story that will highlight a major issue in our society like Female infanticide. 

Prior to this, Ritabhari Chakraborty acted in several women-centric roles on screen. We have seen Ritabhari in the film, Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, the story of Shabari and her right to perform priesthood, dealing with menstrual taboos and standing up against the concept of Kanyadan. And Chakraborty's last big screen release 'Fatafati' also addressed a major social issue like body shaming.

And now, the 'Fatafati' actress Ritabhari Chakraborty is set to fight against one of the major issues in our society Female infanticide in her debut web series Nandini which is inspired by Sayantani Putatunda's novel Nandini.

Produced by Surinder Films, and directed by Mir Falaq, the Addatimes Original Series, Nandini stars Ritabhari Chakraborty in the lead role where she will be seen as Snigdha, a pregnant woman. The series revolves around Snigdha and her family. In this series, Snigdha's mother-in-law tell her that there is a complication in her pregnancy so she should have an abortion. But Snigdha's life takes a sudden turn when she receives a mysterious phone call the night before she was about to have an abortion. The unexpected phone call sent shivers down Snigdha's spine, as the voice on the other end revealed itself as her unborn daughter, pleading for a chance at life. Is it true that there are any complications in Snigdha's pregnancy? or there is some other conspiracy behind it, the answer to this question will be found in this series.

Apart from Ritabhari Chakraborty, the series also stars, Kinjal Nanda and Debjani Chattopadhyay in pivotal roles. Kinjal Nanda will play Ritabhari's reel husband while Debjani Chattopadhyay will play her mother-in-law in this series. Popular young actors like Alivia Sarkar, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Shweta Bhattacharya will also be seen playing other important roles in this series.
