Susmita Dey to play the lead role in a new television drama series
Going by the latest reports, Susmita Dey will be seen as the female lead in Star Jalsha's upcoming drama series. Yes, one of the leading entertainment channels, Star Jalsha is coming up with a brand-new show featuring Susmita Dey as the leading lady. Even, Susmita Dey's look-set has been done for the show. Well, which actor from the industry will play Susmita Dey's love interest in the show is yet to be known. However, there are strong buzz in the industry that actor Saheb Bhattacharya who is mostly known for his appearances in Bengali films, will be seen playing the male lead opposite Susmita Dey in the show.
About Susmita Dey's last show Ponchomi
Susmita Dey's last television drama Ponchomi concluded its journey on 27th August 2023. The show premiered in December 2022 starring Susmita Dey and Rajdeep Gupta in lead roles. Later, actor Rajdeep Gupta, who played the role of Kinjal in the show from the beginning, left the show a few months before its conclusion which created a controversy among fans and the industry as Yuvraaj Chaudhury was welcomed into the show in the same role that Rajdeep Gupta was playing. However, Rajdeep Gupta later clarified that he knew his part in the show would end soon.
Susmita Dey's work front
Susmita Dey is one of the well-known faces among serial lovers nowadays. She became popular for playing the titular role of Apu opposite Rohaan Bhattacharjee in the show, Aparajita Apu on Zee Bangla. Apart from these shows, Susmita Dey played the lead role in Star Jalsha's show Bouma Ekghor which concluded its journey on TV much earlier than expected.
