Both Saptarshi Maulik and Ritobrota Dey are popular faces among Bengali audiences. Saptarshi Maulik became a household name for playing Pratyush in Sreemoyee Serial, while Ritobrota Dey became popular for playing the lead role in 'Nayika No. 1'. And now, these two popular stars, Saptarshi Maulik and Ritobrota Dey have teamed up for the new show Ashtami which will be telecast on a leading general entertainment Channel.

Over the past few days, there were some rumors that Saptarshi Maulik has bagged a new show where she will be seen opposite Ritobrota Dey. And now, one of the leading general entertainment channels, ZEE Bangla has made the rumors true by announcing their new show Ashtami which will feature Saptarshi Maulik and Ritabrata Dey in lead roles.

Zee Bangla's new show Ashtami stars Saptarshi Maulik and Ritobrota Dey as the lead pair, where Ritobrota is likely to play the titular role, and Saptarshi will play her love interest. Zee Bangla has announced the show by airing a promo of 'Ashtami' that features Saptarshi Maulik, Ritobrota Dey, and Kaushik Chakraborty.

And one thing that attracted the audience the most was Kaushik Chakraborty's new avatar on the show. The promo of Ashtami shows Kaushik Chakraborty in a completely different avatar which has never been seen before. Chakraborty is likely to play the main antagonist in the show who has different shades.
